i was thinking of getting some silicone plugs when i just stretched to a 6g. However, i’ve been hearing a lot stories about swelling and bleeding. What should i do?

They’re not good or recommended for use in fresh stretches. And some people have reactions to them even in healed stretches. So you just kind of have to experiment.

With tapers, they are totally fine to use and will be safe on your ears as long as you wait a full month between each stretch, don’t skip sizes, and make sure to use lubricant on the taper and plugs for a smooth insertion. My recommendation is to use concave steel tapers as they are the safest and easiest to use. The other tapers are ok, but if you want to have the best results with minimal risks of infection and irritation then its best to use the concave tapers.
